THE EXPERIENCE
Slow enough to notice.
A guided forest bathing walk covers less than a mile and lasts two to three hours. All fitness levels are welcome. No experience needed. Come as you are.
Walks take place in forests, parks, beaches, and watersheds across the Puget Sound region. They happen in every season, rain or shine. Nature offers something different each time.
Dress for the weather and bring water. Kate provides tea, a light snack, and everything else.
Kate offers invitations along the way. You might notice the texture of bark under your fingers, or stand still long enough to hear what the canopy sounds like in wind. Some invitations are quiet and solitary. Some are shared with the group. Groups are small, capped at ten. Everything is optional. You participate however feels right.
The forest does most of the work. You just have to show up.
JOIN A WALK
Every walk is a little different. The season shapes it. The group shapes it. Nature shapes it. You show up, and the rest unfolds.
$35 per person.
PLAN YOUR OWN
Some things are better shared with the people you already know. A birthday. A reunion. A morning where nobody has to be anywhere else. A private walk lets you set the pace and hold the space for your own group.
Choose the area. Kate knows which trails are best in each season, where the light falls in the afternoon, which forests are waking up and which are settling in. She will find the right one.
BEFORE YOU ARRIVE
Everything you need to know, and nothing you don’t.
Do I need a bathing suit?
No water involved. The "bathing" in forest bathing means soaking in the atmosphere of the forest, not swimming in it. You are bathing in fresh air, birdsong, and phytoncides, the compounds released by trees that give a pine forest its scent. Comfortable clothes are all you need.
How big are the groups?
Public walks are capped at ten. Private walks are flexible from one to fifteen.
Can I bring my children?
Yes. Children ten and older are welcome on all walks.
Can I bring my dog?
I love dogs. But this practice works best without them. Leave yours at home and they will be very excited to smell the forest on you when you get back.
Is Kate a therapist?
No. I am a certified guide. In this practice, the forest does the therapeutic work. The guide opens the door.
I have mobility concerns. Can I still participate?
Yes. Let me know ahead of time and I will work with you on trail selection and accommodations.
What should I wear?
Dress for the weather. Comfortable shoes you don't mind getting damp. We walk in rain, mist, and sun.
Can I cancel?
Full refund 48 or more hours before. Full credit toward a future walk 24 to 48 hours before. No refund under 24 hours. You can transfer your spot to someone else anytime.

"I thought there would be more to it. Like a lecture or a class. There wasn't. We just walked and paid attention. Somewhere around the second hour I realized I hadn't felt the need to check my phone."
